I’m going to share with you 5 of my online income streams to help inspire you to make some of your own.
Before we get started, it’s really important that you know that you can make money online that is the beauty of the internet. It has a decentralized and democratized business so you don’t have to have a high school diploma or a college degree or a fancy job title or any job title or any prior experience, to know how to make money online?
You just have to have the ability to learn and take action so the very first way, that I started making money online was back in 2012. When I worked as a real estate agent in my city. I had already been there for a few years working in a physical brick and mortar office but in 2012 I resigned from my company and I started working for myself. I realized that all of my real estate leads came from the internet.
So what was the point of necessarily sitting in an office in the middle of nowhere in the city? When all of my clients came online so I sent in my resignation and the first thing I noticed was that I was able to work fewer hours and make the same amount of money. Because instead of giving away half of it or more to my real estate broker and partners. I was just caring it all for myself.
First I want to cover a few of the other types of pretty straightforward revenue streams that you can build for yourself.
1. Consulting
One of the most significant ones for me over the years has been consulting and this has been over a wide range of topics if you’re an adult you have skills and you can charge by the hour for those skills as a consultant. I charge a set hourly rate. And I do a handful of consulting calls every week. And for some people, I do consult calls on a weekly or monthly basis for a specific number of months. Until they achieve their business or online revenue goals.
2. Content Writing
The second way that I have been making money online and this is for the past two years is through writing. So I have always loved writing so much. So that in high school my English teacher asked me to teaches the class how to use commas. Because apparently, I was the only one doing it right. The reason I’m telling you this is because there is a hint of something that you have liked to do, or that you have been good at doing. Ever since you were a little kid and for me it was writing. I got an A in English class and a C in math. So stick with what you’re good at. And you can make money online doing it.
My main source of online income from writing is through the medium. In the medium partner program where I can make a few thousand dollars a month and the medium itself is not the only place, you can make money writing online.
You can also take freelance writing contracts so I do a lot of freelance writing for people as well. I do ghostwrite I do some copy-writing and people have found me through my writing on medium. And through medium articles that I’ve shared on LinkedIn. So writing is a very fast way to start making money online.
3. Affiliate Marketing
The next Third source of online income I have and it is quite a significant one is through affiliate income. You also heard about Affiliate Marketing on the internet. This is a very famous earning method nowadays. You can use different affiliate networks to choose products in which you are interested, and promote on the internet to get commissions. So how does that work? If there is a product or service or something like that that you believe in or that you use or that you think is high quality. You can share it with other people and tell them why you like it. And they might find that content about, why you like this product through written content or through a video or even a podcast, and based on your recommendation when somebody signs up for that service or buys that product you can either get paid a one-time fee like a referral fee or a percent of a subscription model. Affiliate is quite a reliable and sustainable way to make automated income over a long period of time and frequently you only have to put in the work once to be able to see recurring income from that. There are some advantages and disadvantages to affiliate marketing.
4. Youtube Channel
Fourth, another new income stream for me right now is YouTube. This is not the best way to make money online it can take a really long time and a lot of money and time and energy to be able to sustain a YouTube channel. And build it up big enough that you can monetize it and then that money is actually a significant source of income for you but it is a possible income stream.
I’ve accumulated a lot of different skills and one of those with this YouTube channel is video production. So recently I’ve been taking on a lot of freelance video production and editing and social media marketing video projects. So that’s one of my biggest sources of online income right now. And I don’t even do any advertising people just see the videos that I make they like them and they ask me if I can help them with their videos.
YouTube alone is by no means something that I could live off of yet but that is the cool thing about online income streams is that they do add up and they can grow exponentially over time. So the more you have the more diversified you are with your online income stream the closer you can be to quitting your job or just working for yourself.
5. Online Courses
In my next Fifth online income stream is through online courses. I started my very first online course a year ago. I haven’t relaunched it yet for this year. But I created a new course that is focused all on how to make money online with the skills you already have.
Yet another online income stream long term my goal is to help millions of people work online. So in order to do that, I’m designing to create different courses and digital products. So that everybody can access information. About how to make money online and how to work remotely while traveling all around the world.
